Long considered one of the brightest young trumpet talents on the New York scene, Keyon Harrold blows fire and brimstone on his Criss Cross debut on a suite of six original tunes, a spiritual, and Horace Silver's iconic ballad Peace. Joining Harrold for the ride are several best-and-brightest members of his peer group, including tenor saxophonist Marcus Strickland, his brother E.J. Strickland on drums, pianist Danny Grissett, and bassist Dezron Douglas, as well as Harrold's one-time teacher, the legendary trumpeter Charles Tolliver.
Nice stuff!
